You miss me, she said

This past weekend, Sandy visited me here in Milwaukee. We had a great weekend, which I am going to outline below:

a) Went and got great, cheap Mexican food on Friday night at Conjitos in Milwaukee. This is a place that serves it's food on paper plates, but is always packed because it is so good. Our friend Phil was with us, and he is always a riot to be around. He had me rolling in laughter a few times.

b) The night progressed onto Bryants, a cocktail lounge. We are beer drinkers, and I was driving (so no booze for me), but it was still fun to go. The bartenders there are real good to take what you like into consideration when creating your drink. I know Sandy was nervous at first, but our man behind the counter made her two great drinks.

c) The night was young, and we ventured downtown to a bar called Flannery's, where we met up with other trainees in my program that Sandy knows. We had a fun time. Night ends with Phil throwing up in his garbage can as soon as we get him home.

d) Morning begins when I get text from Phil "Thanks for taking care of me last night! I was such a dumb dumb but after throwing up, I'm so thin and fabulous! Thanks!!"

e) We make our way to Chicago, and spend time with two of Sandy's besties from HS, Anna and Rachel. Rachel recently began eating gluten-free, but not to worry, we found a great restaurant with an entire gluten-free menu.

f) Anna, her bf Justin, Sandy, and I went to see Guster at the Riviera Theatre. There was an opening band called Good Old War that was fabulous. Easily the best opening band I've seen for Guster, and some of the freshest sounding music I've heard in a while.

Guster recently lost a member of the band, and added a new member, named Luke. Luuuuuke, as that fans called him, adds a real rock element to the band. Joe was more country/folk. I miss the old, but enjoy the new.

The theatre itself was real run down, but Guster put on one heck of a show.

g) We left first thing Sunday morning to get back up to the Milwaukee Art Museum for an event that my company sponsored. We have been to the museum before, but it was great to go back.

h) Came back to my apartment and vegged out for the night. Drank Spotted Cow beer, and ate split pea soup. Watched Sopranos. It has taken me 6 months to watch the entire series. I'm one disk away from being done.

i) Today we had a slow morning. We went to the Gap around noon, but they didn't have what I was looking for.

j) For lunch, Sandy and I went to Comet Cafe, on of our favorite places.

k) And then our weekend was over. Saying good-bye is always awful, but we still had a great weekend.
