1) Today I went to the Brooklyn Museum (www.brooklynmuseum.org) and got to see the Annie Lebowitz: A photographers life 1990-2005 exhibit. It was crowded, but that was to be expected. I really had no idea how many influential and important photographs she had taken. Not only in music, but also politics, world affairs, film, etc. There was also pictures of her family mixed in.
Another exhibit that was equally as interesting were sculptures of people by Ron Mueck. I have never seen sculptures of humans look so real. It was fantastic. I went through a few more exhibits. Notably Tigers of Wrath, a set of watercolor paintings of animals, and the Egyptian stuff.
2) I then braved through the crowds, and walked around SoHo to try and find a pair of jeans that I liked. I finally found a pair at Urban Outfitters, and I am pretty happy with them. My recent denim purchases have been from the Gap, and I enjoy them. However, I need to push beyond the Gap. Nothing against the store, but it's too easy to buy clothes there when you have a nice discount.
Speaking of the Gap, I was literally running out the door on Wednesday, when I saw the beginning of a piece on the Gap. It looked interesting. It was discussing problems the company and brand has been facing. While there, I was trying to figure out some of these things, from an employee's point of view. I have told people recently that working in retail for a year was one of the best things that I ever did.
3) It appears that the BW is back from Florida. SUNYACs is right around the corner. I drank beer tonight.
4) On Thursday I appealed a ticket that I got. I was found not guilty. It was pretty cool.
5) Tonight I saw a classic rock cover band out here on the Island. They were decent. It was nice to hear some familiar songs.
6) It's strange walking into an EMS in the middle of the city. Not bad, just, strange.
