So what are your thoughts on like, you know, new technology?

1) Really not a whole lot going on recently. More job searching. This past week was one of the most boring weeks of my life. I basically sat around, sent resumes out, made some calls. Then I was offered a temp job on Friday, for the next two weeks. Sounds pretty good, especially because I'll be making more than I was at my previous full time job. Although I'm beginning to think that I was treated more like an intern at my last position.

2) Last week I went five days without eating any meat. It happened by accident, but it wasn't really that hard to do. I know I've discussed trying to be a vegetarian before with little success. But after going a week without meat, it seems a lot more possible.

3) A few weeks ago, I started running again. The weather was nice, I had the time, why not? I think I must've been a little too ambitious (a real surprise), and after running five miles a day, for five days in a row, I basically blew my right knee out. I'm actually not sure if I actually "blew" it out. But after the fifth day, as small pain started, and has gotten both better and worse over the last two weeks. This knee injury has also offset the tendonitis in my Achilles tendon that I had a few years ago. Right now, all I can do is ice, ibuprofen, and rest.

4) Brunch. This is one phenomenon that I am fascinated by. In a culture where we scamper to find the shortest line at the grocery store check out, get angry if the subway isn't on time, or loathe that ten minute long line at Starbucks, how is it that waiting for a half-hour on a Saturday or Sunday for a table at a restaurant for brunch is completely acceptable? I know at Geneseo, there was GFR (Geneseo Family Restaurant), which had undoubtedly the cheapest weekend brunch menu ever (Texas French Toast Sandwich, substitute Swiss for American was my favorite). And there was sometimes a five-minute wait, (if the wait was going to be longer, I'd go up to the Omega Grill) but nothing like the types of waits I've seen people experience in New York.

There must be something about 11am on a Sunday that says that says to people, "Alright, lets take a break." And by take a break, lets wait for forty-five minutes to eat some eggs.

I'm not opposed to it. Quite the contrary, the last two weekends I've participated in this tradition. Last week I had my first bloody mary at the Hare Road Inn (Breakfast Burrito has been my favorite there) in Williamsburg. It was terrific.
