1) I'm in Albany for the weekend. It feels nice to be "home". I just took a walk to the Post Office. I feel like it was one of the first good walks I've had in a while. Right now, in my job, I stand for 12 hours straight. After doing this, I usually don't feel like going on walks on my days off.
2) Speaking of my job, this past week I began my overnight shifts. I know that people do this their whole lives. I give them a ton more credit after having done it for three nights. I don't drink much caffeine, however, after the first night, I realized I was going to have to start drinking some.
I've started with Chai tea. So far it's working well. However, I wouldn't be surprised if I needed to switch to coffee at some point. I have never enjoyed the taste of coffee, but I feel like it might have the caffeine I'm looking for.
Staying up and working from 7pm-7am isn't that bad. Because I'm working, I feel as though I don't get quite as tired as I do then when, say, I'm at a bar. What makes life more difficult in the whole situation, is trying to go to sleep at 8am. That's what feels strange. Only 2 more weeks left though.
3) Yesterday when we were driving, I was looking at the foliage, which seems to be better here than in Wisconsin. Sandy let out a scream, and braked hard. There was a baby squirrel running across the road. I'm not surprised. She love squirrels. But it's gotten me to think about trying to avoid animals, and how I know you aren't supposed to. But then again, I almost always have the reaction to swerve when faced in that situation.
