1) These last few weeks have flown by. How many times do I start a post with that? Too many, but it's my blog, and it's the first thing that is coming to my mind right now. Last weekend I spent a long weekend in NYC. I was down there for work, and decided it was as good a time as any to spend the weekend with my friends. We had a real fun time. I drank more in three days than I had in the past three months. The climax of my alcoholism was when I was putting back a beer, and my friend Jeff screamed in my ear "SMASH IT". In which case I promptly finished my pint, and dropped the glass on the ground. As soon as it hit, I thought to myself, you are about to get thrown out of a bar for the first time in your life. However, all that happened was someone came over and cleaned up my mess. I decided to cut myself off then.

When I told Sandy about the incident, she said that both Jeff and I know better. She's probably right.

2) I don't see many movies. I have Netflix, but usually I end up getting TV shows, and blowing through them. My friend John had gotten The Hurt Locker, and I hadn't heard anything about it. But we watched it, and it was one of the best movies I had seen in a while. I think I'd like to see more war movies. I was talking with a co-worker about them, and he had a bunch of recommendations for me. I need to get on it.

3) Today in church, I was sitting at the end of the pew. A couple came to sit in front of me. I know sometimes people find the wooden church pews uncomfortable. People, rightfully so, bring cushions to sit on. However, this person, brought two cushions, to put on top to the cushioning, which caused her to be right in the middle of my line of sight to the front of church. What I don't understand is why she just didn't sit on the end of the pew, because if she was obstructing my view, then she must have been obstructing other people. I think one of my favorite things about going to church is singing.

4) If you haven't tried white chocolate chip craisen oatmeal cookies, you should.

It's nice to have fleeting reminders of abandoning responsibility and reverting to collegiate recklessness. Sandy says you should know better, but I say "Bravo!"

On a related note, I got drunk and threw up on Saturday. It just drove home the fact that I don't really have any time to be hungover, but there was still a certain sense of nostalgia.
