This past week has flown by. I subbed 4 days, and worked a ton at the GAP. I like keeping busy though. Tonight we had this district wide meeting at X-Gates. An ok time. We got paid which was a nice incentive. It was really like a pep-rally though. The other stores seemed to get really into it. Colonie (my store) was pretty laid back and cool with the whole deal....which I enjoyed. I met a girl who works at our store that went to high school and knew my brother, well I guess me too, but she was in my brothers grade.
I'm just started Fast Food Nation by Eric Schlosser. I just started today, but so far it seems pretty interesting. A real look at fast food in America today. No stranger to fast food (anyone who has driven down 20A in Geneseo knows the lure I'm talking about) its interesting to look at the concepts, marketing, branding, etc. behind the food that you get in under 90 seconds.
I mentioned in a previous post the amount I am enjoying WEQX 102.7FM, well today, driving to the district meeting, they had a contest for the Live 8 DVD for caller 7. "What the hell" I said, and called their number. Not afraid to call in the car anymore due to my speakerphone, I kept getting a busy singal. But I persisted, and it started ringing, "And we've got a winner." the DJ said to me. Needless to say, it was an exciting moment in my life. My mom said that she was proud and that she taught me well.
