Chop 'Em Down

1) It's 11:06, and I'm not tired. It feels strange to have so much energy at this time of night. I am usually pretty wiped by now.

2) I ran 3+ miles today, the first real exercise in probably 3-4 months. It was tough, but felt great. I like the fact that right now, I can just start from scratch in terms of training. No expectations. I know that I've gotten into some of my training aspects here before, but taking serious time away from running/lifting weights/swimming has not only allowed my body recover, but also my mind. It is hard to describe the pressure that came along with competing for 4 years in college. A great portion of it was placed on myself, but still, it was there.

I've realized that for me to compete now, in my post-colleigant career, I need to train for specific events and competitions. If I have the carrot in front of me, it is easier. But I'm also excited to try new things. Such as open water swimming, triathlons, and even some road races.

3) At Bombers
today I was debating of trying the Jamaican jerk pork burrito. I asked the lovely indie-rock female behind the counter if she had ever tried it. She said she didn't eat meat. I should have guessed. Indie-rock chick asked the punk-rock food preparer what it tasted like, to which he replied, "It tastes like AWESOME!!" I figured, I'd give it a shot. It was.

4) I bought the Matisyahu
album, "Live at STUBB'S" today. It was long overdue I know. It won't be the most played cd in my collection, but still a good one. Very good at what he does.

Matisyahu has blown up lately though. He is literally all over the freaking place. He was in this weeks Entertainment Weekly. And I've heard the song Youth on EQX, and it sounds good. I feel like a lot of people/critics expect big things from this upcoming release.
