Hose water is my drink in the summer

1) Today was the first weekday that I haven't subbed or worked at the Gap in a while. It was somewhat boring. I did go to a meeting in Schenectady for the Future with Hope campaign, and tried cheesecake for the first time in a long time and really liked it.

2) Last night I watched the show, "Deal or No Deal" on NBC. I thought it was great. The game was relatively simple, but very exciting. I will definitely tune in again.

I also watched the finale of "The Gauntlet II". Needless to say my curiosity in this show has waned considerably over the past few months. Good job rookies for winning though.

3) On a slightly more serious note I want to discuss safety in schools today. As a substitute, many times I do not have a key to the room I am in. I really don't like this. Why? Because of Columbine. This current generation of students does not really remember what happened on April 20, 1999. I distinctly remember being in 10th grade watching the events unfold on CNN. September 11th was a tragedy that will never be forgotten, but Columbine seems to be just another incident that happened 7 years ago now. Sure, the doors to the outside are locked, and there is now a "lockdown" drill. But to be honest, if someone wanted to cause destruction, I'm pretty sure they could.

Will an incident like Columbine ever happen again? To be honest, it wouldn't surprise me. (although not too much does these days) Kids today still pick on and bully others. Possibly not to an extent that the media builds it up, but still to a certain amount. I really would like to hope that nothing of that nature ever happens again, but you can't be too sure in today's society.

i like your numbering system. i'm tempted to try it sometime, but i don't think it would mesh well with my current /style/ and such.
and i know how you feel about the subbing thing. i decided not to go back to substituting because i felt the whole process was sketch.
you take care now, kiddo.
