1) I went to my bank today, and they held the door open for me. It felt somewhat awkward, yet still nice. I remember in college reading an article in our student newspaper that made the case for not holding doors open for anyone. I don't like this. I think that people should hold doors.
2) There has been a great deal of news recently about Lindsay Lohan, and her problems abusing drugs and alcohol. Most of the focus has been on her most recent escapes involving drinking and driving, cocaine use, and passing out in cars, and according to today's Post, knife use. But I think that the media is missing a bigger point. That is that she is only twenty years old. Her twenty-first birthday is in the next month or two. She is underage.
Don't get me wrong, I didn't start drinking at twenty one, but I sure wasn't out at bars before that (except the IB). Does being a celebrity mean you have special priviliges, like getting into clubs/bars and throwing down the sauce? Yes, we all know it does. But do it responsibly. Do it at a discreet bar in the middle of nowhere, or at a house party Don't do it at bars in LA with the paparrizi waiting for you to f up. A bigger problem facing parents of Gen Y (and maybe Gen X) is learning how to teach responsible drinking. And with LL's coked up/passed out face all over the news, it doesn't help this initiative.
3) I just sounded like my mother.
4) There's going to be a blue moon on June 30. What a great beer, especially in the summer.
