1) Yesterday I went to watch the BW take on Hamilton, Ithaca, and Hartwick at Hamilton. All in all I was impressed by what I saw. The mens and womens teams were pretty solid, and there were some promising younger swimmers. I noticed as I went back though, that I knew very few of the people actually swimming. This years seniors were freshman when I was a senior, so now it is three classes worth of people I didn't swim with.
During the meet I needed to use the bathroom. The closest one happened to be in the locker room, so I went in. This was very strange, as the last time I used them was three years ago when I was a swimmer at the meet. I think about where my life was then, and where it is now. Even though I may not have realized it, a lot has changed for me in the past three years.
2) In addition to watching the meet, I had the opportunity to hang out with three other alumni that I hadn't seen in a long time. It was great to reminice about old times, and Sandy mentioned to me on our drive home that we all told the same stories. Overall, a great day. And Kyle hooked us up with some cheap and delicious beer. Support your local brewery, drink Saranac.
3) It's gotten to the point in the semester where the reading is essentially done. Now I'm putting together all the work in the form of papers and presentations. This week will be lighter with only one real day of classes. Then two weeks of solid work and the semester will be over. I noticed that October really seemed to drag on for a long time for me. I think this was due to not having a fall break over Columbus Day weekend that I was used to.
4) We received our new holiday cd at the Gap. I worked one eight-hour shift and I'm already over it. On the 2005 holiday mix, there were still a fair amount of non-holiday songs. Not on 2007. There are about 25% non-holiday songs, to the 75% same-holiday-songs-that-never-go-away.
