1) It has been slightly too long. My semester ended on Wed. night, with quite possibly the worst group project I have ever given. It was not only incomprehensive, but also about the field that the prof. worked. I know I tried, but sometimes I question how much other people in my program do. Awful.
2) On a slightly more positive number, I now get my first real intersession 6 years. Besides work, I have absolutely no idea what I am going to do with myself. At Geneseo was so used to literally being home for 9 days before having to go endure P-Dotty's hell for a month before classes began.
Although I have been thinking back to those Florida trips, and I can say that they were the best training experiences that I've ever had. Granted the swimming was hard, its going to happen, get over it. But there was something oddly refreshing about going to practice at 6:30am, to be swimming in a 50m pool surrounded by windows on 3 sides, and watch the sun come up.
3) Last night I watched Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. I know I should have seen it last summer when it came out, but I was busy. Plus, I don't see a lot of movies and feel like in general they are a rip off and wast of time. Back to the matter at hand. A valiant effort, but as this series attempts to conquer the thicker and more involved 4-7 volumes, the movies end up lacking substantial amounts of plot and structure.
4) Some thoughts about being back in school and about my program in general:
A) I'm happy I waited, this definitely is the right time for me to be back in school.
B) Geneseo prepared me pretty well. When I tell people that's where I went, they always say, "Good School". I feel like because of that I hold myself to a higher standard.
C) Sometimes I question how much of the information I'm learning is really useful. I know some of it I will be using, but other parts of it, most likely not.
