Yesterday we had a real nice time at Eric and Miriam's New York open house. We had the opportunity to see a lot of people from camp we normally don't get to. It is hard to think that we aren't going to have the opportunity to volunteer this year. Everyone seemed pretty excited for the summer to really "start", and there is little doubt in my mind that they are going to do a fantastic job. The first summer away from staff was definitely harder than this summer has been.

The food was fantastic. I ate way more dinner than I should have, and literally had to wait 2 hours for the food to digest before I could even think about eating cake. The music was provided by none other than the fabulous Sacandaga String Band. Possibly and probably the best I've ever heard them.

It was also nice being out of the city for a while. Not being able to hear cars and be surrounded by green for a few hours was very relaxing. Now I understand why everyone leaves NYC on the weekends in the summer.
