Jager-Bombs!!

1) We were out in Michigan last weekend for a number of fun activities. Sandy had her whole maternal family together for the first time in 23 years. It was nice to meet more of them, after hearing stories for a while. The family put on a surprise 75th birthday party for her grandma, which was quite the surprise. I'm not sure I've ever seen anyone so surprised.

We also attended a wedding for two of our good friends, Eric and Miriam. I got to do a reading, which was real cool. I used to get nervous speaking in front of people. I would put my head down, and rush through whatever I had to say. After this year though, I can safely say that I am much more comfortable reading and speaking in front of groups of people.

The wedding itself was great. Before the wedding I asked Annie and Sandy if either had tissues. Neither did, and Sandy replied, "I'll be fine." Don't believe girls when they say they're not going to cry during weddings.

2) Last night we went down to the Plaza for the fireworks. Although I've seen them before, I have never actually seen them from the Plaza. It was quite the scene. Thousands of people drinking and smoking. Not the type of place for families that I would expect. The fireworks themselves were better than I remember.

3) Swimming has been on again, and I'm enjoying every minute of it.

4) Also last night, I went to my first gay bar. Behind it, there were people setting off fireworks. So illegal. And also hilarious.
