You know it's going to be a good night when the emcee has a pabst.

Dammit my back hurts. Thank you Geneseo and community service for making me pick up 500 cigarette butts.

Still Cold. Still Sucks.

Onto more pressing topics:

1) My brother was in Barcelona this past weekend. Lucky shit. Why the hell didn't I study abroad. Oh that's right, I was responsible and swam. For those of you who may have missed it, if anyone, and I mean anyone wants to travel beginning September 1st, I am ready. Regardless to where for how long.

2) I know I try to keep my political feeling to myself, but this is a brilliant article:

http://www.nytimes.com/2005/04/25/opinion/25krugman.html?incamp=article_popular_1

Paul Krugman makes a case that I feel cannot and should not be ignored. I believe much more in individual causes than in a certain party, but his claims about the oblivious right make a lot of sense.

3) I'm about halfway through with Losing My Virginity. It is a great read. Please pick it up. In the last year or two I'm beginning to remember why I liked reading so much when I was younger. Teachers, parents, educators, society at large, etc. puts such an enourmous amount of pressure on teenagers/young adults to participate in sports, extra-cirricular (sp) activities, do well on the SAT's, get good grades...that it is a shame that they don't promote the simple activity of independent and leisure reading more.

4) Yankee's, please stop sucking. You are the most prestigious team in sports. You are the best paid. You are from New York. You have more class and talent than any other team. Start playing like it.

But I have also learned that after swimming for 4 years on a team where multiple comparisons to the NY Yankees can be made, and talent, class, money, and everything else can't always win you championships. There are other factors involved. However, I could easily write an essay on this subject, so for the sake of brevity, just play the Bronx Bombers.
