1) It's been a hectic few days. Nothing new there. Things seem to be going well. I paid my first bills using online banking which is exciting. And the weather seems to be getting colder, which I don't mind.
2) I went to the Camp Fowler website today and saw that they had posted some new stuff. It is still frustrating to think I won't be going back as staff. But as I settle into my new job, it has become easier to accept. I think it was the post-camp/pre-job period during September and October when I was most distraught about the situation.
Someone asked me the other day which summer was better, my first or second? I thought for a while about that, and I really could not answer. After thinking about that question for a week, I still can't answer.
3) Recently, I've been focusing on listening to older music. I feel like I'm at a point, where I need to listen to bands and musicians that are influencing what I listen to today. That and I feel stupid when people talk about Bob Dylan and I have no clue what is going on. So I have initiated a new rule when purchasing cds. For every "new" cd that I buy, I must buy a cd of an "older" artist.
Everyday at work, we listen to Heart.
4) Today for the first time ever I was part of a focus group for a new product that will come out in the future. I can't discuss what it is, but it was pretty cool.
5) A lot has been said about the web beginning a new phase, 2.0. I think I agree with how the press is treating it so far. A lot of mistakes were made in the late 90's, and hopefully now people have learned from them. I just read a good article in Rolling Stone that gave a lot of insight into how it really operates. I also recently read another article in Fortune about Richard Branson, and I still think he is one of the coolest guys on the planet.
