1) I had a good weekend. I drove to Brooklyn (which is a pretty easy trip) and got to see basement band play a show. They rocked hard. We then went to a party, followed by walking on the BQE back to Brooklyn. Today I went to brunch and had my first mimosa. It was decent. Then I went to Victoria/Genevieves to hang out for the afternoon, where Rory made, after some technical difficulties, a delicious apple crisp. I'm beginning to understand and appreciate the city more, and it has definitely grown on me since moving down here.
2) The job search is still going. It is frustrating, but I know I've only been looking/applying for a relatively short amount of time. I need to keep at it.
3) For a while now, I've thought that one of my dream jobs would be to make mixes of music for different places, whether it be retail stores, restaurants, offices, etc. While I've been unemployed, I've decided to act upon that desire, and make a mix. My goal is to work on a mix, and be able to pass a new one out to friends every month. October 2006 is done, and if you would like a copy, please let me know.
4) They closed the path that I do most of my running on last week for the winter. This frustrated me, because it was my favorite place to run on Long Island so far. Even though I don't know how much running I'll be doing between now and the spring, the weather seems warmer here than upstate for this time of year.
