1) I made possibly the best baked ziti of my life today.
2) Tomorrow I begin my new job. I am nervous, as I usually am trying out new things. But I feel ready, and excited to start. In essence, the house lights are going back down.
3) Last night I went to see basement band in the city. They played a great set of music. Their sound seems to have gotten bigger the past few times I've seen them, which is great because they are beginning to play larger rooms.
4) On the subway home, a girl sitting right by us was throwing up. Now, what is the proper etiquette in a situation like this? Do you 1) start laughing hysterically? 2) put your scarf over your nose/mouth to prevent the smell from coming in? or 3) pretend like nothing is wrong, and go about your own (sometimes drunk, only because it was 3 am on a Saturday night) business? I saw all three reactions.
5) I went home this past Thursday which was nice. Even though I'm adjusting down here, it is still refreshing to go home. I like to take Molly, my dog, for walks. Especially at night. I'm not sure why this is. But it became part of my routine, when I would come home from the Gap, or before I went to bed, to take her out for a quick walk so she could go to the bathroom. It was/is great to look up at the stars.
6) Some of you may know this already, but my days at the GAP are sadly over. For the time being, I can't work there, as well as have a full-time job in the city. This is unfortunate, because I did like working at the GAP. I learned a great deal about things I would have never been exposed to had I not applied there last year.
7) I watched a great special on CNN tonight about immigration in the United States. I really don't know too much about immigration. I mean, I have my opinions, but I feel like I don't know enough to have a real educated or in-depth conversation with someone about it. After watching the special, I think it is something that will affect us more and more as we move into the twenty-first century.
