Rocktober

Another Geneseo visit happened this weekend. It was a great time. I got there yesterday around noon for the Alumni Meet. The meet was shorter than in years past, but still fun. The class of 1976 was there for their 30th anniversary, and it was great to talk with them and hear their stories. Following that was a little reception at Coach's house in Geneseo. It was interesting to be at Coach's house, with a beer. Interesting in a good way. I feel like over the past few years Coach and I understand each other better, and communicate better than my first few years with the BW. As an alumnus, I think he does a great job in terms of keeping us involved with the team.

Following that, I got to hang out with my two cousins who attend Geneseo. We went to Mia's and got some chicken parm subs. It was nice to catch up with my cousins, and talk about their experiences at Geneseo along with mine.

After that was a nice little mixer at 5 Ward. Brought back memories from my undergraduate years. I lived at 5 Ward for two years. It may not have been much, but it was home for two years of my life. The party was a great time.

Being two years removed now, I feel more natural in the alumnus role. Last year I'm not sure if I felt more connected to the team and unsure of my role to the team/program because I had just graduated or what, but this year I felt more comfortable saying, yeah, I graduated in 2005.

Following Ward were a few bars, and more talking to people and catching up. Even though it was crowded at some of the places, especially the IB, I feel like in general it wasn't as crowded as in years past. I drove back this afternoon. I made it all the way to Geneseo and back on one tank of gas. 523 miles. I did drive with my gas light on for sixty miles though. All in all, a great weekend with great people.
