My my, how things have changed

1) I decided to stay up in the Capital District today. Partially because I had a few things to do, and also because I thought I wanted to go see Umphreys McGee at the Egg. I decided against going this afternoon. I guess I'm not in the mood. Imagine that, me not in a mood to go to a concert.

2) My drive to and from Geneseo was nice. The trees are changing color which was a much added bonus to the 3 hours of fun that is the NYS Thruway. On that note, I've noticed that depending on where people live, they call the highways different things. In Rochester it was expressways, in the Capital District it is the northway, and on Long Island they are parkways.

3) I use the website
www.wikipedia.com more than I realize. I like how it is set up and its relative ease of use.

4) In response to P.A.T., I too feel as though there is a void in my life without swimming. Although I may not have looked forward to practice everyday, I do look back now and think about what a great experience it was, specifically the BW. The competitions made it worth the hard work, and I think that is what I am missing right now. I have found that running doesn't take the place of swimming, but gives me time to clear my head, think about life, and get in good exercise.

5) Something that I feel has changed for me over the last year or so is my ability to endure the weather. I'm not saying that I want to brave the worst that Mother Nature has to throw at me, but I don't let the weather get in my way as much as I once did. This was evident the first week of camp this summer when it rained like crazy, and the beach was flooded. I didn't stress out like I would have last year. The staff didn't stress out either, we just adjusted a few things. Another time it was prevalent was during my canoe trip to Elm Lake week #30. There was a steady rain the entire day. We were in it for ten hours. It didn't phase me like it once may have.

6) A lot of people seem to be vastly opposed to the "new" facebook. I really don't let it affect me that much. I mean, I still check people's profiles, and pictures. It's cool. I'm still not impressed with MySpace.

7) With gmail you are able to save/archive any email that you get. I did this for a while. But then I stopped. Not because I ran out of space (because you can't), rather that I had useless emails that I had no need to save. When I told a friend about thing, they replied that that seems to be a common theme in my life. Constant sorting and weeding out things that aren't important. I think that is true. Right now, I'd rather have less of something, and make it more meaningful.
