1) 2009 is off at about the same pace as 2008. What I predicted.
2) One of the cdeeez I got Sandy for Christmas was John Mayer's "Where the Light Is, Live in LA". It features him acoustic, with his trio, and the full band. All three ensembles are unique, and there are some real dynamite numbers. I think he's someone that is not afraid to push himself, and really puts on one of the best shows today. Lately I've been reading music insider Bob Lefsetz blog. He makes a strong point on numerous posts that a live show is key to a musician's success.
3) While visiting with Sandy's Grandma in Traverse City, I mentioned how much I enjoy bean soup. She gave us a recipe for Senate Bean Soup. I read online that this soup is served every single day in the US Senate after some Senators were upset in the early 20th century it wasn't on the menu. Our version turned out real good. It calls for mashed potatoes in the soup, a first for me.
