Down to the river they would GO, with a widdle waddle widdle waddle 2 and FRO

June 16, 2005 Day 2 Staff Training

More things seemed to click today. The games w/ Snookie were fantastic. I used to hate the "stupid games", but now I really like them. My favorite was the stealing tennis balls/scrabble game.

Tonight was interesting on many levels. We went to Deerfoot Lodge. It was so much different than Fowler. A lot more "raw" and "emotional" energy than I am used to. Fowler seemed much more refined. A lot like swimming, where raw energy and talent can only take you so far, you need the refinement to take you to the next level.

The boys there were definitely more wild. Possibly from being around all guys for so long? Who knows. But I realized something else today. Is there a reason I am coming back to the church right now, with all the turmoil that seems to have arisen. After being gone for so long, I feel like it isn't a coincidence.

Tonight after Vespers I felt an energy I haven't felt for a while. I set the goal for doing more "artsy" stuff this summer today.

Last night was a great night with Victoria, Brad, and Jeff. I heard a quote recently that went something like this, "In the end you'll always end up with the people that were there in the beginning." I question how true that really is, because regardless of the paths that my friends from high school travel, we always seem to end up having fun together and are still close.

Today was a low keyed day. I am much to lazy to want to travel anywhere to do anything. To basically do anything that I need to get done will take me 30-40 min to get there, as well as use up a ton of gas. I enjoy the Japanese Troop Carrier in the snow, but I don't enjoy spending $60 to fill it up. Besides that, not much is new. I'm getting ready for a fun few days in NYC and Long Island.
