A great weekend. Friday night was my Aunts wedding. A rather small gathering, around 40 people. It was held a church called St. Josephs in South Troy. A big Irish-Catholic Catherdral. I grew up in a Protestant Church, and always am amazed at how fancy Catholic churches look. Mike told me that the membership was declining, but I can imagine how many people would pile in durings it's hayday.
Following was the reception at my aunts house. A very interesting and eclectic mix of people. I met people from Switzerland, as well as a television star (he was on 90210, days of our lives, and melrose place, I don't remember his name).
After the reception I made my way up to Fowler for Jenna and Jordan's Wedding Weekend, and for a late and COLD Friday night. We slept in the Eagle cabin and frooze. Luckily I packed three blankets.
Yesterday I felt like I hadn't left. I went for a great canoe ride, walked around, and even slept in Troost Lodge, Troost Troost Lodge. The ceremony was on the beach, and everything about it was terrific. The sun was shining, the music was great, and it had just the right amount of laughter, love, seriousness, and peacefulness. Following was the reception in the center of camp area, with literally hundreds of candles, great food, and a fair amount of homebrew beer, regular beer, and delicious wine.
Seeing everyone was great. It was interesting to see staff that had been there when I was a camper, who were now married, with kids, etc. Seeing Summer '05 was a great feeling, and makes me want more experiences with these amazing people.
And on an aside, last night Scott Adams played "Drifting" by Trey Anastasio. It was the only time I ever expect to hear that song at a wedding, and if fit in perfectly.
