1) We found out today that we are not going to the Dirty South. A member of our church was able to get a truck and the shipping for free. This is a bummer for Kyle and myself, but can also be seen as positive. There is still money allotted, and hopefully we can plan a trip down that is more organized, and doesn't involve the both of us driving a U-Haul full of 50 boxes of supplies around Louisianna and Mississippi.

2) In a move that I can't really comprehend, my mom has become the girls modified soccer coach up in Saratoga. I know. This is my mom. She organized the pasta parties, not coached the team. Needless to say, now that I am staying, I will be helping her out tomorrow and next week. Even though I haven't played soccer in 6 years, it's not something that completely leaves you after playing for 11 years. Looking back on it, I think it was the right decision for me to leave at the time, because I just wasn't happy with the program, some of the players, and the coaches. But when I do look back, most of the memories are good.

3) I began to reread Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince yesterday. Reading it at camp, I feel as though I just rushed through it. Many times when I read a book the second time, I slow down and pick up on a lot of things I missed the first time. In terms of my opinion on the book, I think it was very good. Not my favorite, that "probably" is The Prizoner of Azkaban, but it changes. But back to #6. The book moved slowly in terms of plot. There was a great deal of character development, as there should be with 15-16 year olds. But more than that, what it did was set up what is sure to be a dynamic 7th book. If you look closely, Harry never faced Voldemort in Half-Blood, much like Azkaban. Dumbledore died. It is part of life and the story. I recognize that he has become a favorite of many (even myself), but this is what happened.

4) I'm still slowly getting used to life not in school. Geneseo seems/feels like a blur. It happened too quickly.
